Activity of the Group:
The group’s main activity within the Johanniter is to transport and distribute the aid packages. The trucks of Domino Trans Ltd. bring the humanitarian aid regularly – almost every month – into the country from Germany. Most of it is distributed to institutions in need within Hungary, but there is enough to give away outside of our borders as well. There are times when we transport the aid directly to the target country: we took a full truckload of school furniture from Holland to Kárpátalja, or a full x-ray equipment from Germany to a hospital in Rahó, Kárpátalja.
Apart from dealing with aid transports, the local group is actively involved in central activities of the Johanniter, supporting certain projects, providing financial basis for them.

Kemenesmihályfa: Recreation facility for the disabled (furniture, wheelchairs, clothing, bedding, household appliances, washer, toys, etc.)
Celldömölk: new Lutheran kindergarten (toys, furniture, teaching tools, washer)

Children’s home in Gencsapáti, Disabled children’s home in Rum, Old people’s and disabled institutions in Szombathely, support for individuals in Szombathely (granting and renting hospital beds, medical tools) in cooperation with the Social Care Network of Szombathely
(Clothes, toys, furniture for Christmas for families in need), Rehabilitation Department, Markusovszky Hospital, Vas County (beds, mattresses, tools, wheelchairs, etc.)
Transporting Christmas aid packages from Switzerland for schoolchildren in Csap.
Our plans:
1. Beginning with April 1, 2004, the Hungarian Lutheran Church takes over the social care center in Szombathely, where 62 old people and 82 disabled people live. The Johanniter’s new depot and a planned minivan may also find their place there. We also plan to make an agreement of cooperation between the institution and the Johanniter.
2. To employ a Johannite minivan which would help to distribute the aid shipments on a local and national level.
3. We need to pay more attention to Kemenesmihályfa. Many disabled people go there to spend their vacation every year, but the circumstances are terrible. It is necessary to increase cooperation between MEVISZ (Hungarian Lutheran Youth Organization) and the church at Kemenesmihályfa, so that the building can be renovated soon.
4. To increase cooperation with the basic medical attendance system service for children in Szombathely.
