Activity of the Group:
Kárpátalja was the first out-of-border region where a local group of the Johanniter was organized. The main reason for its establishment was the coordination of aid shipments to Kárpátalja, necessary administration, and the supervision of the usage of the aid.
This means that we have manifold activities:

Collecting the most necessary requests

Recommendation for the usage of possible aid (both in-kind and financial)

Preparation and coordination of applications, project descriptions for various foundations and workgroups

Supervising how the supported institutions use the aid, accounting, and documenting the work that has been carried out
Most important achievements since the time of our organization:

We supported the free food service in Beregszász for a long time

Renovated the kindergarten in Nagybereg

Renovated the school in Beregújfalu

Renovated the central heating system of the school in Dercen

Constructed the water system for the parsonage in Fornos

Helped with the church reconstruction in Csongor

Helped with the church reconstruction in Nagybereg

Helped with the construction of the Bétel Education Center in Balazsér

Buying the main entrance doors for the Reformed Lyceum in Nagybereg

Provided vaccination for the inhabitants of three villages (Hetyen, Harangláb, Nagypalád) at the time of the Tisza flood

Provided and organized lunch for 60 children of the 6th primary school in Beregszász; supporters: United Hungarian Fund: PCC (USA)

Provided medicine aid for the county hospital in Beregszász

Supported the construction of the Children’s Medical Clinic in Tiszaújlak

Transported computers and medical equipment to several locations (Nagypalád, Nagybereg, Tiszaújlak)
The Deacons Department of the Reformed Church of Kárpátalja and the Dorcas Foundation in Szürte helped to administrate aid shipments. The Budapest Headquarters of the Johanniter regularly follows up on our activities and the use of aid. We apply strict accounting measures, as it is required by our supporters. We have received much aid from the Pro Kárpátalja workgroup in Switzerland, the Endres Foundation in England, and the United Hungarian Fund in the United States of America.
